Root Causes & Triggers
“Illnesses do not come upon us out of the blue. They are developed from small daily sins against Nature. When enough sins have accumulated, illnesses will suddenly appear.”
― Hippocrates
Herbalists have always known that true healing and wellness requires an understanding of the underlying imbalances and deficiencies that are driving the disease process and progression. But in the last 20 to 30 years there’s been an influx of medical doctors that have turned to the functional medicine side, many of them after experiencing their own health crisis and healing or, that of their children. We’ve also had an increase in and access to naturopaths and other functional medicine doctors.
These healers know that the path toward healing and wellness begins with recognizing that symptoms are just manifestations of deeper imbalances within the body. Whether it’s mitochondrial dysfunction, leaky gut, latent infections, mold, or vitamin and mineral deficiency, the root cause must be treated to truly become well and not just suppress the symptom.

If you’ve identified a root cause that doesn’t fit in any of these categories let me know! I want to gather the collective experience to help other families find their root cause.
